Garrett Duffy, a dedicated construction professional and proud Texas A&M graduate, passed away unexpectedly from a brief illness in Austin, Texas. He was a talented estimator at Vaughn Construction, a rising star in his field, and a kind-hearted soul who left a meaningful mark on everyone who knew him.
Garrett was just beginning to hit his stride in the construction industry. He joined Vaughn Construction as an Estimating Intern in 2022 and quickly proved himself through hard work, precision, and a commitment to excellence. He rose to become a Junior Estimator, and most recently served as a Trade Estimator, working full-time onsite in Austin. His colleagues remember him not only for his technical knowledge but also for his positive attitude, team spirit, and strong work ethic.
A 2022 graduate of Texas A&M University, Garrett earned his degree in Construction Science with a focus on Construction Management. At A&M, he built both his knowledge and a strong network of friends and mentors who believed in his potential. He was passionate about creating structures that mattered and valued integrity in every project he touched.
Garrett’s early experience in the workforce reflected his willingness to learn and help wherever he could. He worked as a Customer Service Representative at Warren’s Southern Gardens and completed hands-on projects as a Summer Intern at Renninger Remodeling & Repair, where he learned the fundamentals of construction from the ground up.
But beyond the job titles and roles, Garrett was so much more—a caring friend, a loving family member, and someone who brought quiet strength, humor, and humility into every room he entered. His sudden passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him.
